May 18-24 (Mon-Sun)

We've got the 'growing our garden' challenge going on right now in my spark group and it runs from Mon-Sun so I'll have my workout here follow that order.

This week is my 5th anniversary on Friday (no P.M. workout for sure!) and traveling on Saturday (driving) and Sunday (at dad's).

2 Goals:

420 minutes or more
27 miles or more

Mon: (planned 6.0 a.m. run:: DONE!) + yoga (NOT DONE): 65 minutes





  • 6.0 run completed! Warm up 0.15, Ran 3, stopped for break - drink, bathroom, cool off, check on my son getting ready for school. Back out, ran 3 more + .25 cooldown walk home.
  • Drank G2 (Yuck - will be glad when that is gone), and Totally Light 2 Go Energy Rush - I LOVE THIS STUFF!!!
  • Splits were under 10 each mile, except maybe mile 4 which was partial stopping from the first 1/2 and getting started on the second half. Here are the splits: 9:38/9:30/9:18/10:26/9:47/9:28 (Cooldown at 15:33)
Tues: (planned 6.0 a.m. run, WS: DONE 5.85) + ST (NOT DONE) : 80 minutes




  • Its raining. I was brave and ventured out first thing this a.m... I was tired and blah and just never could seem to wake up with the dark sky and melodic drizzling. After 1.1 mi, I came back inside. I had no interest in Exercise TV, so I washed my hair with the extra time.
  • It eased up around school pickup time, so I ventured out in the rain once again and got 2.2 miles done this time, mostly due to time restraints because the run actually felt pretty good this time. 2.7 miles left to go today. UGH. this means my ST will be cut short tonight. At least I got in several walking lunges while waiting for my pokey girl on the way home from school.
  • Third time's a charm I guess! I ended up with a total of 5.85 very rainy miles ;)
  • Splits: 10:00/9:28/9:03/9:34/9:17/9:20(for .85)

Wed: (planned 4.0 a.m. run, w/J: DONE: 45 min) + ST (45 min/Actual DONE 33 min) + (Bonus 0.5 mi run, 12 min) = 90 min / 4.5 mi run

  • Rainy run again, still around 70 degrees with 73% humidity according to my home weatherstation. I have a problem with psyching myself up for the length of my run, and had planned for the bottom to drop on us, so I was thinking maybe 2 miles.... but we ended up getting all 4 done with no water til the end - I was so thirsty. :)
  • Splits: 9:41/9:28/9:40/9:02 (wu: .25 @ 15:29 & cd .3 @ 13:16) Total 4.0 ran, .55 walked
  • Afternoon Intervals: .5 ran + .5 walked: 12 min
  • 33 mins of ST tonight, 3 X 10 lunges+twist, 3X10 squat-curl-press. 3X12 lying leg lifts (for abs), 3X12 stability ball hamstring curls, 2X8 bicep curls. Stretch.

Thur: (planned 6.0 split run, WS) + yoga (Not Done) : Totals Ran: 8.15, Walked: 1.7, Time 102:17

  • a.m. run: 2.25 running + .75 walking wu / cd: Time 32:30: Humid, drenched. only about 70 degrees. I hate running mornings.
  • lunch intervals: 2.8 running + .6 walked: Time 34:33. Still humid, tough run. Had to wait on DD, hence the intervals.
  • p.m. run: 3.1 running + .35 walked: Time 35:14 (was going to run 4, then decided 3 was PLENTY! I was dog tired!)

Fri: (planned 5.0 a.m. run, WS) (50 min) **My anniversary.

  • 3 miles, not raining but very humid (70%) and 79 degrees, which is hotter than it has been - a little above my comfort level. I made it *(9:41 ave. pace)!...but felt sick for a little while afterwards.


Sat: (planned 0.0 run) (0) **driving out of town, leaving before dawn.

  • Subway, chips, bars, diet cokes.... not too bad, not great either...but then...
  • Got to dad's and had cake and cookies... :P
    Sun: (planned: 4 mi, dads) (40 min) ** will be out of town.

Sun: (planned 4.0 mi run)

  • cake & coffee for b'fast: prerun fuel :)
  • Run was great and perfect and beautiful and my dad was right there beside of me! Aweee...
  • ate like CRAP the rest of the day, tons of pasta salad and cakes, finger foods, sides...UGH!
